Although learning to knit as a child, I only started knitting regularly a few years ago when I went on holiday to visit Mum & Dad in Northumberland. Finding myself bored one evening in front of an open fire, and watching Mum happily click away at a sock, I asked if she had any spare wool and needles so I could keep myself occupied. Fast forward a few days, and I was back on the train to London with wool, needles and a jumper pattern in hand. Since then, I haven’t stopped. I now live in Northumberland, conveniently close to Mum who is on-hand for any knitting emergencies. Luckily, she isn’t just a very experienced knitter, but also a renowned pattern checker and fabulous knitwear designer – publicly known as SEAknitting.
