Hi everyone. My name is Verda and I love to crochet. I have always wanted to learn how to crochet since I was a little girl. I started buying yarn and pins over a year ago because I told myself, 'I am going to do this!' I am subscribed to almost every crochet site there is. I tried to do a doily from my head in continuous rounds--didn't look right, so I gave up. Then about 5 months ago, on the advice of a friend, I watched a few YouTube videos--I fell in love with the double-crochet stitch. Then one day, I picked up a pin & a skein of yarn & started creating a very long chain. I turned, and just started the double-crochet stitch. After a couple rows, I decided it would be a blanket for my mom. In about 1 1/2 months it was completed! My children were impressed! I eventually would like to learn how to knit also. So far, I have completed 5 projects and have 3 in progress. I am thankful to my family, the crochet bloggers, the YouTube video makers & the contests for the inspiration. VJ
