My mother taught me to knit when I was 4 years old so I have been knitting for over 65 years. I am always up for learning new techniques and my favourite yarn is always the one I happen to be using! I have recently started knitting a baby blanket for my new great niece using Schachenmayr Bravo Baby 4ply - it is the first time I have used this yarn and it is knitting up beautifully . I love to knit for babies & young children. My favourite style of knitting is Aran. I do quite a lot of knitting for charity and have just been given a pattern for bunting - a group of us will be knitting this for the church. Another group in my village join together for a yarn bombing project and each year we decorate the village in May as part of our village feast celebrations. I have enjoyed sewing clothes, embroidery and lace making (crochet & bobbin) - these days however, it is nearly always knitting that I choose to do. The only thing is, I never seem to have time to make anything for myself!
