My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was 9 years old using thread and a tiny hook after watching me admire- but never touch- her grape doily for years. 50 years later, thread is still my preferred medium for crochet. I crochet everything from scrubbies with mesh to baby items with fine baby yarn to blankets and sell most of what I make at craft shows and markets or by special order. I also run a small greenhouse/ nursery business and I bake during the farmer's market season. I also have a small lapidary shop where I tumble, cut and shape my own stones and I make jewelry that sells at the same markets and on my website. My three young grandchildren love to go rockhounding with my husband and me and we make several trips a summer to explore, pick stones and just enjoy the outdoors. Winters ... oh winters will find me drawn back to my small steel hooks and my crochet threads where I make doily after doily... some to sell, some to give away, but some just to look at and enjoy for the
