I knit as a young wife and mother but gave it up as I found more and more crafts to try. As an "empty-nester", I found that I wanted to reduce the bit of yarn that I'd carried with me for so many years and fill some of the time I now had. Little did I know that, because of the wealth of the patterns now available on the internet and the knitting communities that evolved, I would just donate the old acrylics that I was used to, for the wonderful natural fibers that I could buy everywhere. Since then, I've been collecting supplies for any project that happens to catch my eye and knitting and learning.
I also have a husband and cat, live in Texas - where it's too hot to wear a lot of knitted items for the majority of the year - go figure!
