I've been knitting since my mother taught me; over 40 years ago. In today's world of ready-made items it is a great skill to demonstrate affection, thought and precious time to create items as gifts that are unique and full of love. I have recently bought the Japanese Knitting Stick Bible book; circulated it around my immediate family to choose their favourites and then created a family knitting 'crest' for scarves, gilets etc. Thankfully my son has asked to learn knitting so he can carry on our new family tradition. There is always a need to knit, whether it be for family, oneself or charitable items. Keep on knitting!
