My granny taught me to knit and I knitted a lot as a teenager but then work, family life took over for a few years. I rediscovered it once my children left home and now love knitting for them and myself and friends. It's so much fun to see balls of wool turn into something you can wear and use and enjoy. I often use a pattern but then will go 'off piste' and make something up using parts of a pattern I've enjoyed. I have lots of projects ready to keep me going and especially enjoy knitting in the long winter nights.
