    About

It's almost that time of year for winter warmers to be worn. I made Theo's hat using King Cole's Stripey Helmet from Baby Book 4 and added mitts from my Pom Pom Beanie and Mitts pattern to complete the set to keep him warm on chilly days. I used up yarn from my stash in colours his mummy loves. I love the red too but sadly it's being discontinued. I added strings to his mitts so that they won't get lost. He obviously thinks his mitts are very tasty!

You can find the mitt pattern here http://www.loveknitting.com/pom-pom-baby-beanie-and-mitts-knitting-pattern-by-buzybee

    Needles & Hooks

    • Crochet Hook 4.00mm (US 6)
    • Single Point 4.00mm (US 6)
    • Single Point 3.25mm (US 3)
    • Single Point 3.75mm (US 5)

    Measurements

Notes: 18-24m for the helmet and 1-2yrs for the mitts. Theo's big for his age so I made the next size up for him but having said that there's not a lot of difference in the helmet sizing in the length and also the earflaps.

Thankyou Alison. This was almost 2 years ago now Alison. He's a big boy now but each winter he has had this helmet and mitts set but in different colours as his mummy loves it. Last winter he had his new mitts on to eat dinner and went to bed in his hat! Mind you Theo is a bit obsessed with hats!

He looks so handsome in his helmet and mittens and the colours really pop; I'd have never thought of grey and red but they look great.

Thankyou Hazel ... He looks gorgeous in this red as I've made him a cardi and a jacket in it but I've just discovered that Sublime are discontinuing this red :-( I've found a bit to stockpile for Theo as well as one of my customers who loves it as much as me ... I'll be sad when it's all gone though ...
