    About

I love teddy bears and this one was just too irresistible. I think I might have curved his ears too much as he looks a bit bat-like, but it adds to his personality

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 3.00mm (US 2.5) 18cm

    Accessories

    • Stuffing
Other : 10mm safety eyes and 12mm safety nose

    Measurements

    6 inches/16cms

Notes: I used press studs to attach the arms and legs so that his position can be changed. It saves on worrying about getting the exact position of them right too. The designer’s idea for skewering the head to the body with knitting needles to position it was revolutionary for me. I often find it hard to position the head just right. This allows you to keep adjusting until you get it right and sewing into place is much easier too. Definitely a good idea to avoid eye contact though!

Thank you Michelle. I went back to look at this post because of Sue J’s lovely Bubba and Bubbatoo and realised I had not updated the photos with one of him with his repositioned ears. That was a moment and a half, cutting the threads holding the ears on and hoping I wasn’t cutting a knitted stitch … 😳😊

Love your little bear Karen, 😄I’m doing this pattern at the moment, I’m definitely going to try your knitting needle tip as I find attaching heads to bodies very tricky!

Ah good luck with him Dianne. Make sure you post pictures! I can’t take credit for the knitting needle trick though - that idea was all Pat’s. I have learned some very useful tips from her
