    About

Sheila had stage 4 liver cancer; this was to be for her but sadly she died on the day I finished it so now I am going to knit another so that both of her children can have one.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 3.25mm (US 3) 25cm
    • Double Point 3.25mm (US 3) 15cm

    Accessories

    • Stitch Markers
    • Stitch Holder
    • Tapestry Needle

    Measurements

    30cm sitting and 42cm standing.

Notes: I clicked on the wrong pattern; I used the Knitables new Giraffe pattern. There are lots of small yarn balls to work with so be prepared for some tangling particularly with the eyelash yarn.

Hazel, this is beautiful! My deepest condolences on the passing of Sheila. I believe her children would very much appreciate the giraffes. It is extremely sweet of you & your sister to do so. Bless you.

So sad, but I'm sure her children will find comfort in the kindness you have made in this wee giraffe x

It is tragic for Sheila and her family but my sister is the kind one; she commissioned the knit but I was so sad that Sheila never knew of Susan's plan to cheer her up. Although she's abroad at present she still thought of ways to make her friends daughters a little happier.

I finished this at night and took this photo to send to my sister so that she could see what I'd done. We got the sad news the following morning.
