    About

As always, I was trying to figure out what to make for my Mom and Mother-in-law for Christmas. Somehow I ended up with a lot of white/off white acrylic yarn and fun fur in my stash of yarn. So I came up with the idea to make soft area rugs using these yarns for their bathrooms and designed a pattern. I knitted the bottom of the rug in a simple garter stitch with the white yarn. Then single crocheted fun fur on the top. They turned out so soft, squishy and pretty!

So the gift giving season is over and it’s time for a “me” project. I loved the rugs that I made so much that I wanted one. But of course I don’t want a small one for my bathroom, I want one for my kitchen where I spend so much time on my feet cooking and doing dishes. So I decided to make an 8 foot by 2 foot runner for my kitchen! It took 3 pounds of acrylic yarn and about 30 balls of fun fur yarn. I have used up most of the yarn in my stash and am ready to restock. My heart is full and my feet are comfortable.
