    About

We have guests for Christmas for the first time in years this year. For this reason, but without a fortune to spend, I wanted the living room to look special. So I set about crocheting around 80 various snowflakes to make this garland. I used several different pattern books for this project I just picked the ones I liked best from each. The green flakes are made with Twilley's Goldfingering that was already glittery, but the red flakes were made from a large cone of white 3ply cotton which when made were cold water dyed and then painted with red glitter paint (but I will probably use the red Goldfingering in future to save time and effort!). All the flakes have been painted with PVA glue to stiffen them. I then threaded them onto fishing line using large eyed needle. I intend to continue making the snowflakes to decorate the tree next year.

    Accessories

Other : I bought stretchy fishing line online to thread and hang the flakes.

Notes: I used a 2mm hook with the Goldfingering yarn and as I mentioned before different pattern books, so the flakes range between 3 and 4 inches diameter.
