    About

I'm delighted to find this well-written, accurate pattern for mittens in various sizes! The author comments: "These are a perfect ... blank canvas for experimentation." This pair allowed me to experiment with the subtle color variations in one of Patons Kroy Sox Yarns. The cuff is quite snug on this pattern, so if you prefer a looser fit you'll need to knit the ribbing on a larger size needle than the pattern specifies. As always, I had "help" from my elderly Siamese cat (see photo).

    Needles & Hooks

    • Double Point 2.75mm (US 2) 20cm

    Accessories

    • Stitch Holder
    • Tapestry Needle
Other : I used scrap yarn (not a rigid stitch holder) at the thumb break to avoid pulled stitches.

    Measurements

Notes: Toddler - 5" around the hand, 7.25" long, 2.5" cuff
Note: Cuff is snug! If you prefer a looser fit, use larger needles. Also, be sure to cast on loosely. The opening needs to stretch!

I have socks made out of this same wool! It's great stuff and your mitts look very smart, Elizabeth H!
