    About

I love unicorns and as soon as I saw a pattern to make one in my most favourite wool I couldn’t resist. This is for my little 9 month old niece. I am really pleased at the result as it’s similar to the pattern picture.

    Pattern

    2486

    This pattern is from:
    Sirdar touch 2486

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 6.50mm (US 10.5) 33cm

    Accessories

    • Stuffing
    • Tapestry Needle

    Measurements

Notes: I made the pattern size, only thing I did have to change was when increasing, rather than doing make one I knit front and back. It meant I had to make a few changes to make sure I had the same amount of stictches per row, but I am not a fan of make one as it leaves a hole. It’s approx 50cm

Just read your note on measurement and I may have misunderstood but if you mean 'make one' as in picking up the yarn between two stitches to create another stitch, if you pick it up with your left needle then place the right needle in the back and knit it than way it twists the yarn and never leaves a hole.

Oh no way!! I have never tried that, I did it on one pattern and couldn’t understand the hole so never did it that way again, I’ll have a go again... thanks for that!

She's beautiful Helen and if you've any of the pink left there's a lovely knitting pattern available for a flamingo using Sirdar Touch, it's available on Etsy under Olivia Flamingo Bird. I've seen it made and it's gorgeous.
