I bought the book "Unicorns, dragons and more" when it was first released but only really had time to make one of the designs beforey daughter was born.
Now, with a bit more time on my hands between her naps, I found myself browsing through the pages again and decided to try and tweak some of the patterns so they could be used for some comfort blankets.
This is the result of following the "Unicorn Bel" pattern, only making the head and front legs and attaching them to a simple rainbow granny square.
It took me forever to decide on what edging to use to finish it all off, but decided to create some pompoms by slip stitching two popcorn stitches made one on top of the other. Figured it would give the blanket an additional layer of comfort since babies seem to love chewing and fidgeting with round shapes.
