    About

Bit of a sock fest going on at the moment; another pair from the same pattern as the last 2 pairs I've knitted. Other than a change of colourway in the yarn, I have modified the pattern very slightly to use a 2x2 rib rather than the single rib...small but attractive change.

Hi. I really want to learn to knit socks. My legs are very thick and not sure how to adjust the calf part of the sock to accommodate my thick calves. Any advice would be so appreciated.

The pattern I used for these socks is very loose around the leg, to accommodate an extra pair of socks underneath. Why not give it a try, you can always gift them to someone if they don't work for you :-)

Thanks Alison, you should give it a go; it's not as difficult as you might think, but I understand the trepidation :-)

Socks are one of the things on my knitting for Christmas list and I'm running out of time fast. Some proposed Christmas gifts may have to become 2018 birthday gifts!
