    About

I knit this little sweater to soothe my jangled nerves after the project I was working on before this unraveled due to faulty knitting needles. (Circular needles that I was using on a silk cowl suddenly burst apart, tearing a swath four inches wide and fifteen rows deep. After unraveling and rewinding 100 yards of yarn, I put the needles in the trash.) This sweater is a quick, satisfying knit! The pattern is beautifully written -- a great beginner's project.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 3.50mm (US 4) 60cm
    • Double Point 4.00mm (US 6) 20cm
    • Circular 4.00mm (US 6) 60cm
    • Double Point 3.50mm (US 4) 20cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stitch Holder
Other : I used scrap yarn as stitch holders on this project. (The "safety pin" type rigid holders risk stretching the sleeve while the body is in progress.)

    Measurements

Notes: I made the 18-24 months size. (There's a ruler in the photo, showing the finished sleeve tip to sleeve tip width -- 20.5 inches, 52 cm.) This is the second time I've made this pattern, and I adjusted the sleeve to have a bit more ease. I added two stitches on each side of the sleeve where it connects to the body. Otherwise, the connection is a bit "sharp," and likely to stretch when active little bodies squirm around in it.
