    He wanted some thick socks for next winter. I tried this Lana Grossa wool - absolutely great wool to work with. The socks are cozy and stretchy. I make socks without pattern but as a gauge hint to get you started, for this wool I started with 44 stitches for the leg.

    Notes: This size (men's size 11) uses 1-1/4, max 1-1/2 balls of yarn, if you buy 3 balls you can make two pairs.

      Hi, Karli! Nice socks) May I ask whether you knitted with suggested tension (18st * 10cm) or tighter? I knitted a sample and it seems to be loose. Thank you in advance!:)

        Hi Natalia, these were on tension. If you are finding 4-1/2mm needle loose maybe try with 4mm? I know some people knit loosely on 4 needles. Good luck! Karli

        Best are 75wool, 25nylon blends. I like Lana Grossa, Regia and Patons Kroy.
