Stripey Socks

I made this for the joy of knitting socks...and as replacements for my sister's lost sock!

    About

    I knitted some socks for my sister and her wellington boots some time ago and earlier this year one sock went missing...we think her dog, Jem, might have had something to do with it, so these stripey socks will be a Christmas replacement. Poor Jem left us in August so he can't be held responsible if this pair get lost, but everytime we see both socks, we'll think of Jem and, perhaps, wish one had gone missing..

      Good looking socks! Hope Jem is still stealing socks in doggy paradise... one question, can you make two pairs with one ball of paintbox yarn? I am looking to make two pairs with the essential socks pattern...

        I haven't use essential socks pattern but my experience is that 100g makes 1 pair of socks with about 25g or less of yarn left over depending on the shoe size made.

        I love knitting socks, they are interesting, quick to knit and practical. We have a lot of outdoorsy types in our family so a warm sock is much appreciated.

        Hi Pam, I've added a new photo of progress so far. Yarn is nice to work with, I'm now wondering how it will wear and wash. Which red have you chosen?

        @Susan@Hollygrove:
        I've chosen the strawberry & cream and the rose petal as I'm a greedy yarn stasher ;-) X
        Love the implement you have your yarn on x

        @Pam S: Found it on line, it spins around as you knit releasing the yarn without it running all over the floor :-)
