I added short sleeves by casting on 4 sts at underarm then picking them up for the sleeve. I gave the cardi a bit more flare by increasing between the 2 sets of short rows. As this gave more stitches I did the 2nd set of short rows leaving 10 sts each end. I added a garter stitch border along the hem. These were all personal taste changes. I am not in any way implying the original pattern needed changing.

KNITTING HELPS YOU SLIM
If you are busy knitting it is easy to miss snacks and even complete meals.
If you knit while watching TV or traveling you burn more calories as you are moving your hands.
You avoid chocolates as you don't want sticky hands.
No better incentive to slim than knitting a complex cardi that is slightly too small.
You can help keep children slim too by knitting them Easter gifts instead of giving eggs. This year Sophie gets a cardi. Next year I will make her one of the beautiful toy bunnies on the LK site.
