    About

I’ve been wanting to try lace knitting for quite some time now. Despite being at awe with all the talented lace knitters, making a shawl full of lace isn't my cup of tea. I shall admit to lacking the discipline & patience required for such projects. Haha!

This small scaled project however, was the perfect lace lessons for me - without too much of a commitment. Even so, I strayed away from the project for a while, spending a few days in between to make a test teddy (with a really cute bum!).

Ahh… well… Finally got to finishing everything today & I must say, I’m rather pleased with the outcome. Please excuse my terrible attempt at crochet though. I can’t seem to to manage the tension when crocheting the straps.

    Pattern

    Silk Slip

    This pattern is from:
Knitting Lingerie Style by Joan McGowan-Michael

    Yarns

    • material-yarn
      4 Ply Yarn - Sunshine 1 ball

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 3.25mm (US 3)
    • Circular 3.25mm (US 3)
    • Crochet Hook 3.50mm (US 4)

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle

    Measurements

    Notes: Size : 34B

Pattern : The pattern is meant to be a slip with silk fabric sewn below the bralette but I omitted that portion altogether. I’ve also changed the straps to criss-crossed ones but I should have made longer darts.

Yarn : I used a much lighter yarn & smaller sized needle hence adding extra stitches & rows. Quite like the softness & airiness of baby yarn especially when I intend to wear this to sleep.

@Na Y: I feel the same as you about lace; I could do a small project, but balk at a larger one. You got it just right!

@Hazel H: We'd surely be gutted if we don't finish large lace project, yea? I might attempt another similar project as a fundraiser for Pink October 2017. They're quite comfortable. Well, if I dare to do another lace project that is... :D

@Hazel H: Explains why I saw other knitters using the good ol' :D symbols. I quite like your quote by the way - 'You can do anything you set your needles to'! Don't be surprised if I go on to use it often, all thanks to you, Hazel. Hahahaha!!!
