    About

Once again, I had a batch of mystery yarn from a swap in my stash and the motivation to bring it out came from needing some lightweight, small projects to bring along on a winter trip to Australia. This pattern was in my queue, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to try it.
It was a pretty easy, fast knit and it turned out quite well, although it needs aggressive blocking to smooth out the neckline puckers and make the points work on the lace border. I'll post a new picture once I have done that.
I did a bit more shaping on the sleeves to make the bottom a little less loose. I decided to make the medium size rather than my usual small and that seemed to work well.
Blocking on this one was a multi-try effort. Third time lucky (I went at it with hot steam from my iron as a last resort) Finally got the puckers out, and the lace is behaving.

    Pattern

    Needles & Hooks

    • Double Point 3.75mm (US 5)
    • Circular 4.00mm (US 6)
    • Double Point 4.00mm (US 6)

    Accessories

Other : blocking wires, pins and mat are recommended to flatten puckering on the neck edge and achieve the optimum openwork and points on the lace border.

    Measurements

    M

Notes: I elected to size up from my usual small (US 2-4) after reading the advice from the designer on Ravelry. Good call. It fits fine without stretching out the stocking stitch across the shoulders..
