I saw the story from the USA where octopus were given to prem and sick babies, so far I've made about 12 octopus and thought I'd try a squid! Very loosely based on the octopus pattern.

Ohh wow Lynne that is so sad that they are having to do that, it's scary enough when us adults go through it. What a fantastic idea for them to have their own wee octopus for them to hold on to and cuddle, oh what a wonderful thing you are doing.

Hi Michelle, apparently they hold the tentacles instead of any I'v s or tubes, and it helps them stay calm, they do work, a colleague has a 10 week old that will only sleep if he has his octopus, he now has 3, just in case.
