Traditional stitches in modern colors!
This round baby blanket was crocheted in one piece from the center out. It consisted of 6 sequential sections: Center, First Body, First Band, Second Body, Second Band and Border. The Center and Bands were worked vertically in rows, while the Body and Border were worked in right-side rounds. Each new section was joined to the previous section as-you-go, so the only sewing was joining together the 8 stitches at the beginning/end of the Center and Chevron Bands.
The radiating pattern combined with the vibrant color combination really gave the blanket a cool “futuristic” feel. But I also think this pattern would look like a classic heirloom if worked in white fingering yarn with pink & blue striped bands.
