    About

I made this blanket for my baby that is due after the holidays! We don't know if it's a boy or a girl, so I made a rainbow. I've always loved the symbolism of the rainbow after storm and the promise of a new start. I used all cotton so it's super soft and I dyed about half of the colors to get the shades I wanted. The gray is the storm clouds and I got it during a trip visiting a dear friend, so it's even more special. It comes with memories of a great trip with lots of challenges and successes. I made this blanket with basic shell stitches, switching between gray and colors every two rows. The edging is chains and picot. I'm so excited wrap my baby up in this blanket when it's born!
