    About

This was my first attempt at knitting anything more complicated than a seed stitch scarf! Quite a few mistakes but a great learning experience.

I wouldn't say it was easy, it was definitely a challenge for me and took a few attempts to start but it is a great crash course in increases, decreases and reading a pattern.

I would say give it a go if you're quite stubborn! 🙈

I actually came across this pattern by Mama In A Stitch (https://www.mamainastitch.com/vintage-knit-tie-headband-pattern/) after making the cardigan and wished I began with it. I made one for me and my daughter and we wear them all the time! 😁

I have tried to make this cute cardie a couple of times, but I get stuck on row 4. I do not come up with 50 stitches! Is there an error in the pattern? Or what could I be doing wrong? It could have a lot to do with me being a beginner knitter!

I think I am too much of a beginner myself to offer any real advice! I do know I made the mistake of repeating the entire row instead of just the kfb, k1 repeat and had to start again!

@Oonagh C: Oonagh you advice was perfect, exactly what I needed. I am now almost finished the cardie and am about to learn how to use circular needles for the arms! Thanks again. Kaye
