    About

I made this for the grandson (eight and three quarters) of a friend with strict instructions that his Paddington Bear had to look like the movie rather than the book. I must have fulfilled the brief as he immediately ordered a Peter Rabbit with the same instruction. I'm now hoping they don't remake Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs !!

He is fabulous. Did you have a pattern for his clothes?

Thanks Jennifer, I did use a pattern there are a few different ones available on Ebay but I've included a link to the one I used.

It does come with the bear pattern but I used a different bear for the one I made.

What a masterpiece I love his suitcase, Christine. Is it part of the pattern?

Thanks Beata, his suitcase isn't part of the same pattern. I actually used three different patterns to make my Paddington one for the bear, one for the clothes and one for the suitcase, I like the complicate things!😄

That is a very good idea Pat, you've got my creative juices flowing now. At the moment I'm besotted with little Mulberry Mouse, but I often have two or three jobs on the go (at least!) at once . So watch this space 😉

Haven't seen the film, but love your version of Paddington. Did you design your own duffle, it looks great. I'm sure he will be a toy to treasure.

Thanks Jean, I had the duffle coat and hat pattern from an old Family Circle magazine and the same with the suitcase which is an Alan Dart pattern, both often appear on Ebay fairly regularly. I had to do a bit of adjusting to make it fit my bear so there was some pulling back from time to time but I got there in the end.
