    About

Every time I ran across two skeins of silk yarn that I had in my stash, I'd say to myself, "These would make a nice hat!" Finally one day, I decided to test that hypothesis. This hat is the result. Next time though, I'll know to choose a more structured yarn for this beret pattern because I prefer less slouch and drape in this style of hat. Also, this pattern accommodates any yarn and any size needle, so be prepared for a bit of calculating to custom tailor it to your desired size. I knit this hat in the round on circular needles using "magic loop."

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 4.00mm (US 6) 60cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stitch Markers
Other : I used a pom-pom maker for the top of the hat. If you don't want to buy a commercially-made gadget, a circle of cardboard works equally well!

    Measurements

Notes: I made a hat that fits my head -- large adult size. The beauty of this pattern is that you can make it out of any yarn and any needles! Just be prepared for a bit of measuring and calculating.
