    About

Two years ago, when my granddaughter was 9 months old, my son asked if I could design an "Olaf" Christmas sweater for her to wear at Christmas. When it was finished, he asked if I could also do one for him and my daughter-in-law. I put more detail into the background for the adult pictures and reversed the pattern for one so they would all be slightly different. After putting the picture onto graph paper, I then wrote it all out, row by row as I prefer to follow instructions rather than a chart.
I can't remember what pattern I used for the baby jumper (the wool was Robin 4 Ply Madonna and White, Stylecraft Special 4 Ply in Black and Sirdar Country Style 4 Ply in Chocolate. The nose for all 3 sweaters was a scrap.of rather bright orange.
Because I knitted the baby sweater first, I used the same wool for Olaf's stick arms (4 ply chocolate) and just knitted with 2 strands of wool for the adult sweaters.

Hello, These are wonderful! I'm working on my own graph and not getting the eyes quite right. Did you do an embroidery after knitting or just the coloured graph? Thanks! Colette in Canada

Sorry but I promised my family that they would all be originals. Although I knitted 4 in total (one was a hoodie), they are all slightly different and nobody has one quite like them.

Thank you for your lovely comments. I quite enjoy doing something that is a bit more individual and different from regular knitting patterns.

They were meant to be unique jumpers that no one else had (they are are slightly different and I also did a 4th version in a hoodie style for my great niece) so I don't want it released into general circulation, I'm afraid.
If you had a picture that you would like to see if I can make a pattern for it, I would be happy to try.
