    About

A warm winter jacket which is smart enough to wear on formal occasions as well as being comfortable is an essential
for me. I'm too tall for most retail
jackets, so I decided to knit my own. I purchased the yarn in November, and finally able to make a start today.
I chose the yarn I'm using because it has a lovely texture.
Although the pattern suggests single point needles, I used 9mm and 10mm circular knitting needles as it made the garment easier to hold.
Unfortunately the jacket turned out a bit bigger than I expected, but the length is perfect and it's very cosy.

Update Oct 6th 2019 - I have altered the coat to a side fastering coat with a button under the right collar.

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 10.00mm (US 15) 35cm
    • Single Point 9.00mm (US 13) 35cm
    • Circular 9.00mm (US 13) 120cm

    Accessories

    • Buttons
Other : I chose 4 square black buttons from The Button Company. The are just what I was looking for to finish the jacket.

    Measurements

    46in

Notes: I knitted the body of the jacket 5inches longer than the pattern as I'm very tall.
