    About

Wanted to knit something contemporary for my friends new baby granddaughter. Was drawn to this pattern as something different and versatile as the outfit can be changed to coordinate with different outfits by just changing the ribbons. Was taken in by the little matching bootees.

Found the cast off for the bootees complicated at first when reducing 3 stitches from three separate needles to one stitch, Initally i kept loosing one of the stitches in the process. Solved this by just bringing my yarn though one stitch at time, slipping that stitch off the needle and then bringing the yarn thought the next.

      Hi Linda,
Looking forward to seeing your finished Kimono. Sorry for the confusion with the amount of wool. Yes i have paid the price in the past for knitting too late and espically for trying to continue knit in the dark as the natural light has faded.

@Linda C: Good. Would have felt bad if it had gone out of stock and you were left short. Which does seem to be a bit of a problem at the minute,i find I keep choosing a yarn from the site. only to find it is out of stock. Hope you enjoy knitting it.

      Thanks Jean
Realised this morning how to use stitch markers. I can use safety pins and just loop them onto needle. Moral of the story - don't knit late at night as your brain is too tired to think straight! Have emailed LK to get more wool. Thanks for your reply. Happy knitting!

Jean can you help me. I am just starting this but don't quite understand pattern, and I'm only at start! What are stitch markers? I thought you just put markers obetween stitches and input safety pins but realise they have to move with work as you slip them along needle.

Hi Linda, Stitch markers are small plastic rings that you place on your needle between your stitches, to mark your place. Usually where you are increasing/decreasing for shaping, or to mark the start of a pattern panel. They are either completely round or with a split. You can get them quite cheapley from any knitting supplier.
Alternatively you could use a small loop of contrasting yarn.

      Hi Linda,
Yes I used double knitting wool.
I used a size smaller than the suggested 4 mm needles (used size 3.75 mm), to give a neater finish on the garter stitch.
