I was bored and kerchiefs had caught my eye. It should have only taken an hour or so, but the pattern wasn't clear to me. I ended up charting it from the picture and modifying it a bit. Since cotton has a tendency to shrink and then stretch out, I added a couple tiny buttons that fit through the stitches instead of sewing the straps together. For now, I keep it on with bobbie pins, but eventually I'll add Velcro. Those marvelous hooks are the only things that make anything stay in my cornsilk-textured hair or on my head for a whole day. Maybe someday they'll make stretchy Velcro for hats and other stretchy things. (Project started late Wednesday. Took Thursday off (to work late.) Finished stitching on Friday. Wet blocked on Saturday into Sunday. Sewed the buttons on Sunday with embroidery floss.) Calling it INTERMEDIATE because of the vague pattern.
