    About

Josie loves cozy clothes and loves them even more if I made them. It has been difficult to find what she likes as she does not prefer colorways and is oddly picky about stitch design. She is 11 and very creative. I only recently decided to try making sweaters for her. I previously made 2 sweaters. They didn’t fit her the way she expected and she was dissatisfied but she’s 11. One sweater has a hood and the ribbing I did on the hood turned out looser than I’d hoped. I could have selected a better yarn too. This one had sequins and was difficult to pull through this size stitch. I mostly knit for Josie and knitting helps me manage anxiety and stress. I experience a significant amount of stress daily for several years resulting in my inability to work outside the home. This has been difficult for me to adjust to and made me feel very worthless. Knitting helps restore my self worth and gives much needed meaning to my life while inspiring me to continue on.

I really hope I win this contest because the opportunity to try new yarns and experience color would be invaluable to me. I hope to eventually learn to design patterns in the future and know that the more I experience different yarns and patterns I will continue to get closer to achieving that goal!
