    About

This is a bit of luxury for your lovable cuddlies - a sparkly circular snood, either knitted in the round with 40cm circular needles, or with single pointed needles as one rectangular piece - width-ways from bottom to top, and sewn up the side. Knitted in the luscious Sirdar Soukie DK, shade 'Cactus'. If you're feeling in the mood for some fun why not knit one for your pet dog or puppy with this yarn for a funky Spring accessory - you'll be sure to turn heads and add some sparkle your morning dog walks :) Note: I used 4.5mm needles for a slightly softer, stretchier finish (instead of 4mm as recommended for DK) which enhances the delicate spray of sequins throughout the yarn.

    Yarns

    Needles & Hooks

    • Circular 4.50mm (US 7) 40cm
    • Single Point 4.50mm (US 7)

    Measurements

Notes: To fit over a 40cm head and snout, I recommend (as with starting any garment) knitting a 10cm tension swatch, counting stitches, and casting on required amount to produce a 40cm piece (measured horizontally, to be folded in half) with 4.5mm needles, for me this was around 70 stitches. Ribbed edges top and bottom - use 1x1 rib, delicate enough for this sparkly yarn, and on same size needles as main piece (4.5mm) - no increasing/decreasing after ribbing - same amount of stitches all the way through.
For larger head, work in the same way, e.g. 60cm - work 10cm tension square and count stitches, multiply by 6 to get enough for 60cm. Happy Knitting!
