    About

My sister commissioned a giraffe to give to her friends terminally ill daughter. Unfortunately she died on the day I finished it but my sister asked if I would knit a second giraffe so that both of Sheila's children could have one. It was my pleasure to do so and now there are two.

    Needles & Hooks

    • Single Point 3.25mm (US 3) 25cm
    • Double Point 3.25mm (US 3) 15cm

    Accessories

    • Tapestry Needle
    • Stuffing
Other : I used my Knit Picks bobbins for the intarsia sections. For the eyes and nostrils I used black yarn this time so that the children can tell which giraffe is which.

    Measurements

One size only: Standing teddy measures approximately 41cm (16.1i

Notes: There's a fair bit of intarsia to get the markings and the mane correct and the eyelash yarn gets tangled easily especially when you use three separate strands. Be prepared for some detangling if you are as clumsy as me!
