    About

This was a stash buster project. I made a poncho with this yarn and had 1 1/2 skeins left over. The yarn has chainette construction and between that and the fact that alpaca fibers are hollow, this is the warmest yarn I have ever used. And then, I used needles that were too small, so it really became a thick and warm jacket. This is terrific yarn - I highly recommend. The faded denim color is lovely. As for the pattern, I used the pattern just to get a general roadmap, then I changed a bunch of things around. The buttons were stash-busting, too, and were from a sweater that I had in 1986. The jacket is seamless (used magic loop on the sleeves) except for two 3/4 inch seams to attach the front plackets to the wide bottom garter section. My sister told me that the jacket looked military with the metal buttons, so I knit up a hat that looks a little bit like a helmet. Now I'm completely out of this yarn. Yay! Stash successfully busted.
