Can anyone tell me how many meters (yards) are there in each ball of yarn in the pattern?

Is the pattern in US terms or UK term?

This pattern includes basic instructions on how to make a blanket body and round-by-round instructions for its border. They are written in both British and American crochet terms. However, to add a design (elephants) you will need to follow a colour chart that represents an entire blanket body piece.

I really want to make this blanket for my niece. I can crochet well but cannot read patterns. How hard is the pattern to read and follow. Will it only work with certain type of yarn?

After trying to do this border 5 times, I ended up using a moss stitch around the border to give it a stripe look. Shame because a big part of me chose this pattern for the border.

I'm on the 2nd row of the border and my sides are not lying flat. Looks like too many stitches. I am doing a 3 cluster with ch 2, with the exception of the corners. Is this correct? Getting frustrated....

@Richard H: This blanket was made by one of Pattern World's customers - Natalie Siedbald Firmani. She lives in South Africa. As far as I am aware she use her local brand. Unfortunately, I don't know what that brand is. xx

If I wanted to make this larger could I just double everything?

@Laura C: Hi Laura,I am sorry for such a late reply. This blanket is not larger than the original one. If you need to make it larger you have a couple of options: 1. add extra rows and stitches on blanket perimeter or increase the number of border rounds. You may choose to do both. Also using thicker yarn and hook may enlarge the size slightly. I hope it helps. xx

@Melinda W: Never tried to enlarge the size of an item using this method. Be careful, the design might be distorted. I would advise to experiment on a small sample first. xx
