    About

Have thrown caution to the wind and am knitting fronts and back together. Now am I brave enough to knit the sleeves in with the main body? Managed the sleeves, but realised at the end that it wasn’ recommended! Always read the pattern first, guilty as charged for not doing so. Wrong side looks a nightmare of ends to darn in. Hey ho, a bad weather day job and this is it!

Oh well done. Darning in the ends bit of a pain I found.

Also what colour did you do for the top flowers on the chart? It doesn’t have that colour listed on the legend!

Just started this pattern (with yarn from a store near me so the colours will be a bit different!). Had a quick question about the measurements! I’m doing the smallest size and the pattern says the “back” is 56 cm. Mine is only measuring about 30. Just wanted to see what yours is! When it says continue until it measures 21 cm, does that include the ribbing?

56 cm will include fronts and back. Are you knitting fronts and back separately? If so, then 30cm sounds about right for the back piece.
Alternatively, if you’re using different wool to that recommended then that will affect the tension.

@Christine C: yes I am working on the back right now! I didn’t know doing them together was an option!

@Vanessa K: well it isn’t really in the instructions. I just don’t like joins over patterns! Anyway, size sounds about right to me.

What green did you end up using Christine? I would want to knit the sleeves in with the bodice too. Why do you think it was not recommended?

Hi Christine. They didn’t have seedling green in stock, so I just used the same peashoot green for both. Seemed to work out ok.
As for knitting sleeves in with body, if you look on page 7 of the instructions, under “neckband” just where I didn’t think to look, it says that there are more rows on the sleeve edges than the body but that it should fit together. I think I had come to that conclusion myself, calculating the number of stitches and rows, it just wouldn’t work out. I think I knitted sleeves a couple of sizes up to overcome this and fiddled about with the decreasing as I went along. I hate seams on garments like this! Good luck with it.

Love it. I’ve purchased the wool and thought the pattern came with it. Now I’ve bought the pattern but no sign of the download. Dying to start😀

@Christine C: I’ve purchased it again. I have a receipt this time so must have given incorrect email. Still waiting for the downloadable pattern. Thank you for your feedback.

Thanks for all the likes. The only photo of the cardigan worn is being modelled, rather reluctantly!
