    About

Mark and I have known each other for 20 years - and lived together for 8 of those. This is the first thing I have ever knitted for him. (Perhaps I take "The Curse of the Boyfriend Sweater" too seriously ) This is tagged as "My Proudest Achievement" in recognition of the fact I finally got around to creating something for him after all these years of him putting up with my fibre habit.

Its also an achievement for me as I started this off with a long tail tubular cast on for 2 x 2 rib. Casting on 168 sts on in the round using this method was time consuming and to be frank hellish, but the result is worth it (see pic 3).

After a couple of rows of 2x2 rib I switched to 2.75mm/US 2 60cm circular to get gauge with sport weight yarn. Worked in round to crown and then magic loop to the bind off.

Blocked using a cardboard template cut from a dinner plate! Unblocked fabric was dense and tight from the smaller needle, but has blocked out perfectly to a lightweight and defined finish.
