    About

VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS YARN: I knitted this chunky jumper using the Owl jumper pattern yet again. That pattern is so useful. I omitted the owls and used half fisherman's rib:

Number of stitches = multiples of 2+1

1st row. Sl1, knit to end (the right side)
    2nd row. S1, *K1b, p1, repeat from * to end.

This stitch has a thick, springy texture. I found Wendy Serenity Chunky nice to handle. The colour I used is 3206 Tarmac.

PS. The label says the yarn can be mild machine washed at 30 degrees. I have never in all my years of knitting been so disappointed with a yarn. Pill? Bobble? See photo!

I had to comment further on this yarn. The label says it is machine washable, so I washed as per instructions. It's a warm, soft yarn, but the short fibres of white are separating from the grey and working their way to the surface of the garment where they then make huge bobbles and drop off all day long. The jumper is like felt. There is more bobbly mess of this on my carpet in a day than my Ragdoll makes with hair in a month. I will never buy this yarn again. In the photos, you can see the before and after. The jumper is going to be recycled. Thank goodness I didn't pay a fortune for it.
