When I was 24 years old I started my nursing career as a visiting nurse. I developed severe anxiety and depression with the stress of my new career. I loved what I was doing, but as a first time nurse I faced many challenges working alone in patient'a homes. Prescription medications negatively impacted my physical health, making me ill. After 1 year of work I found knitting. I started teaching myself at home after work and it helped me channel my thoughts and time into something new and productive! I am now off of precription medications and doing very well! Knitting (and crocheting) have become my therapy! I have shared it with everyone I love and have started teaching family and friends!
Hats are simple and fun! I love knitting in the round. My nieces hat was stopped 4 rows earlier and bound off, so she could put her bun through it! I love how patterns can be slightly altered to make a completely different item! I used wool ease thick and quick in 3 different colors!
