    About

This is perhaps not technically my first knit of 2018 because I started making this in about 1999 when my daughter was a baby. I intended to adapt the pattern for breastfeeding purposes but life with a small child intervened and I didn’t even finish the back. I came back to it about 2 years ago when I unpicked it and started again. It was interrupted again when said daughter, now 18, asked for a jumper for her birthday. Now some 18 months later I’ve just come back to it again, determined to make it the first thing I finish this year! The pattern is so old it’s out of print and it doesn’t look like they make the yarn anymore ...

I remember knitting a white chenille jumper back in the day! Your jumper looks gorgeous, lovely colour, looks cosy too, like Liz I wore I’m until it was almost thread bare, it was washed so often ! Just proves if it’s worth knitting you will knit it in the end 😊

Karen you will get so much happy wearing out of this jumper! I had a dark plum coloured one. Last year I had to agree that it had died of extreme worn-out old age. :(

        Hi Liz
How lovely to hear from someone who has made this jumper! I’m sorry to hear of it’s demise though. I shall look forward to wearing mine if I ever get it finished - I’m sure the spirit of yours will live on through it :)
