    About

This is a Debbie Bliss pattern (the pattern search function is terrible), so I don't bother linking to patterns) for a cable knit baby blanket.

The yarn I'm using is 100% acrylic. I'm a bit of a yarn snob, and I've never met a 100% acrylic yarn that I liked even a little bit...until now. This stuff is fan-flipping-tastic. It's so soft and smooth, looks great, and feels nice in the hands. None of that squeakiness or slight stickiness that most acrylics have. This is a plied yarn with a slight sheen and great stitch definition. I will absolutely use this again.

Oh how I wish I paid more attention to my grandmother when she was teaching me to knit and crochet. I can't knit a stitch and this is going to be a stunning blanket.

Thanks, Maggie. I'm completely self-taught from books. And now there's all kinds of video tutorials to learn from – it's never too late! :)
