    Needles & Hooks

    • Buttons
    • Stitch Markers
    • Tapestry Needle

Notes: This pattern has errors. It will end up with ankle section being way too wide if you do not add at least (3)SC 2 tog (decreasing stitches) over the toe area in each row for 3 rows after row 8 and before you start the ankle cuff. When I made it by the pattern, it looked like a boot for an elephant with all ankle and tiny toes. The boots in the picture were NOT made with the pattern you have printed here. Please have the author update this on your sight. This could be very discouraging for people who don't know how to alter a pattern.

Hi Josiel L, I did get a notice from Therese H (below) that they were sending this pattern back to the designer for corrections. I have not been alerted to whether the corrections are in the pattern they are currently selling. I would certainly hope so. Perhaps Josiel L will let us know in this comment sections. Otherwise, my advise is add (3) SC 2 tog stitches spaced over the toe area in each row for the three rows after row 8 and before you start the ankle cuff.

      Blessings,
      Susan

I bet you could continue to add rows and make this boot knee high think I'm going to try it

I have a lady wanting me to make these...but not necessarily in thick yarn...she saw a color I had in cotton yarn and wants it, but I don't have enough of that color and it was clearanced out. If I end up using a 4 medium weight, such as Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn do you think that would work? Or should it just be thicker yarn?

I enjoy "I Love This Yarn" too. I would try a double stand of this yarn though, otherwise, especially because when you are doing the decreasing stitches, you might have a noticeable hole that would be drafty. ALSO, be careful with poking those holes in the flip flop base. You don't want to make the perforation so big that it might pull out while wearing. PLEASE pay attention to my advise about continuing the decreasing stitches above row 8 and BEFORE you start the ankle cuff section. The cuff section ONLY needs to be wide enough to allow the foot to slip in there. I actually had to try it on several times while making it to decide when to start the cuff. I think you'll enjoy making them and she'll enjoy wearing them. Blessings. SK
