I made it up as I went.
Made in two parts.
Band -Measure crown- took off 5cm. knitted in 2x2 rib as per tension of yarn.
Top -measure head front to back. (I found this made the beanie slightly too small so add 5-10cm.) Cast on half of stitches that I did for band. Divided length by 6. Stocking stitch with five rows reverse ss at the end of the first 5 sections. Draw in sides. There will be a small hole. Join top and band. Sew on cute button to cover hole.
