    About

Made this little jacket very recently for my work colleague. Having just found out that my friends new granddaughter is expected very soon. Needed something quick and easy to make. So turned to this pattern. Very easy knits up quickly. Used a different yarn this time, but again took less that two balls. I even have enough yarn left for bootees. Used John Lewis Baby Knit 50 % wool 50 % Nylon, Machine washable wool cycle. Used a smaller needle (3.75mm) to get a neater finish with my garter stitch.

Hi Michelle, Pleased you like the cardies'. It is a good pattern to start if new to knitting all in one. Its as easy pattern that looks effective. Very easy once you get past the top shaping.
I did my sleeves on 4 needles, however i have recently found out that you can get short circulars so that's another option. or can work them flat and sew up.
Let me know how you get on, look forward to seeing your finished cardie.

Hi Jean,I love the way you have made this cardi in the cream and pink.I am going to use the smaller size needles like you suggested. With the band is that picked up and knitted or knitted with the front piece, sorry not very good with baby knitting.lol😊😊

Michelle , Ive Just seen some of the beautiful toys you have made, and so detailed, they are lovely. I've only attempted a couple of simple ones my self. Your baby cardie will be a piece of cake !!

Hello Jean, that’s a beautiful cardigan. I’m thinking of buying the pattern and making it in WYS Bo Peep. Do you think it works out quite small? The baby is due in August so I’m wondering if I should make the 3-6 months size.

Hi Jean. Thank you 😊. It’s hard to tell with the sizing, but comparing to other patterns I have made I think it is probably average for a first size cardigan, didn’t seem excessively small, however I haven’t seen it on. Hope you enjoy making it , it’s a really easy pattern that knits up quickly.

Yes raglan sleeves always sit well. (and even easier with the all in one method) Set in sleeves can be so difficult to get just right. Hardly ever completely satisfied wth the end result.
