    About

My mother’s house keeper Veronica is an immigrant from Mexico. She unexpectedly found herself to be pregnant at 39 years old, with her fourth child. She had several complications with this pregnancy, and when the baby was born she was found to have down syndrome as well as a heart defect which required surgery to correct. The surgery could not be done until the baby was 3 months old, so she was not able to go home from the hospital till she was four months old. This family qualified for medical financial assistance to offset the cost of this very expensive surgery but refused it. Veronica told my mom she does not want to be a burden on the United States, and they committed to paying their medical bills themselves. When i saw the adorable bootie pattern that Love Crochet posted a couple years ago i saved it. I knew this family needed a pair of theses booties for their new little princess. They loved them!
