Sitting beside the hospital bed of my husband, whilst recovering from a serious operation, gave me time to think....... too much!! Every what if, but, why and wherefore came into my mind and I allowed them to torture me.
So I decided to use the hours sitting at his bedside to do something productive, to have something to show for all that time spent in the hospital whilst he was sleeping or not communicating.
We were expecting our first grandchild in the Autumn, so I spent those summer months producing this blanket. It stopped me allowing those thoughts taking over my life, and kept my sanity, and kept me calm at a time when panic could have been overwhelming and destructive.
It's really a summer I want to forget, but then we were blessed with a beautiful grandson and my husband is well on the road to a full recovery. Job (almost) done!
