    About

Just wanted to try out another pattern, especially as I had seen this knitted so many times on the LK site and I do love OGE designs. After several rows I realised I had somehow managed to reverse the fir top pattern, so that I didn’t get the open hole design as per the original pattern, but decided to go with the flow. Next time I will do it right! However after a few weeks I decided I didn’t mind the finished garment and let’s face it, a baby won’t know I stuffed up.

Thanks Jennifer, I am currently knitting a basic blanket with a ‘yarn over needle’ stitch and had to google that I was doing it correct to get the border holes. That is probably where I went wrong on the jacket above!

Thanks Vera, I am hoping my friends daughter in NZ has a girl, so I can gift it to her. This isn’t the first time I have misread a pattern. I have more of your patterns that I will definitely be using in the future.

Lyn I don't know if you saw the jumper I just finished for Liam, posted a week ago but I didn't tell anyone there is a cable turn on one of the sleeves that isn't right. I was along way up before I noticed it and I didn't undo it.

Lyn sometimes I think we worry about cables twisting the wrong way and nobody else would notice.

Yes, very true Jennifer, if I hadn’t noticed it, I would have no doubt carried on knitting blissfully unaware. Ignorance sure is bliss! Hopefully I can post pics before I leave, provided I finish it. Such a time consuming project after knitting babies jackets etc.

Thanks Christine, I tend to always be drawn to that colour as I personally wear it a lot, it tends to be one of those colours you either love or hate. I would like to attempt this pattern again and hopefully get it correct.

Love the colour Lyn, I had the same problem with the fir top pattern and then I realised the instructions didn't make sense and went back to how I would usually do it. I undid it to get it right. I do not have the pattern here so I can't remember exactly what I did. Mine was looking the same until I changed it. It still looks great.

I did notice someone else’s pattern looked like mine. Am just on a lovely jumper to take to daughter in Oct for her birthday and noticed one tiny error. Couldn’t let it go so have spent over 2 hrs unpicking it stitch by stitch (cabling) to get it correct. Some things matter, some things don’t. Ah, the life of a knitter!
