    About

I wanted to knit a baby jacket with hood in a soft chunky yarn. The one I found was just perfect. The hood did seem quite large, but you could turn back the rib to make it smaller as in my photo. I didn't bother knitting the ears. Placement would have been tricky.
As a general rule I don't sew the sleeve rib up. I can remember when my children were small struggling to get their fists through too tight a sleeve. It also makes it easier to turn-up the cuff when sleeves are a little too long.

Thank you so much. I'm posting it off today to my friend's daughter. She is fostering a new baby and feeling so tired.. I thought it would be a nice surprise for her. She was so thrilled with the two pompon baby blankets I sent, especially the one-off winter red one.
